Audrey’s Coffee House & Lounge
I began working with Audrey’s Coffee House in the Fall of 2026, shortly before they opened the doors of their cafe in Narragansett, Rhode Island. I worked with the owners Jared and Ashley to create a design for their space that could help add in some color, serve as a social media backdrop, and give the space a little visual nod to the couple’s shared time on The Bachelor.
Project Scope:
— Hand Painted Mural
We designed and installed Audrey’s first and largest mural in October 2021, shortly before the business’s opening. We wanted to include roses into the design as a nod to Jared and Ashley’s television background; most importantly, we wanted a design that felt distinctly Rhode Island. Audrey’s is located only minutes from some of the best beaches in the Ocean State, and paying homage to that was important. Any Rhode Islander knows that a pre-beach coffee is an absolute necessity.
We chose a deep, nautical blue for the background of our wall, and an anchor motif to tie the visual together and give the overall design some good, organic movement. Since the intention of the mural was to serve as a focal point for customer social posts and event marketing, we made sure the logo (not designed by me) was front and center to help build awareness as the business began to grow.
The next year, Audrey’s brought me back to paint another mural behind the bar. One of the establishment’s most distinct offerings is a full bar and cocktail menu along with their coffee and food options and we wanted to make sure that was promoted as heavily as the café. We chose to use the brand’s distinct forest green for the background on this one, helping things stay cohesive even though we weren’t directly putting a logo on this one.
In the summer of 2024, I had one more chance to work with Audrey’s on a mural installation. The business was transitioning from a chalk to a digital menu, to help better accommodate their shifting seasonal offerings. This left us with a blank canvas to fill with more artwork. To tie the two mural concepts together, we created a series of six illustration’s based on the cafés popular offerings. To keep things sustainable, we were able to paint over and reuse the chalkboards from the previous menu.
The murals even managed to make a small cameo in Spring 2026 on the first season of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Rhode Island!
